Submissions

Submissions for the Walls of Remembrance are OPEN.

These are anecdotes and positive memories to get to know the people we’ve lost and mourn. Share a funny story! Let us share in your love for this person. This is not a traditional obituary, even though we miss them. This is a place to share warm memories.

Please follow the guidelines carefully. Submissions that do not follow the guidelines COMPLETELY cannot be used.

Wall of Remembrance Submissions:

COVID-19 Remembrances:

For those lost to COVID-19 and its complications, please submit:

–In the Subject Line put “Covid-19 Wall of Remembrance Submission”

–In the body of the email:

—The person’s name, date of birth, date of death and “due to COVID-19” or “due to  COVID-19 complications.”

–A happy memory/anecdote of this person, 100 words or less (longer anecdotes cannot be used) and the name the contributor wishes on the submission (i.e. “submitted by her daughter, Dorothy” or “submitted by her best friend, Joy”). Again, this must be in the body of the email.

–One photo, as JPG, 1200 x 628 pixels (we cannot edit your photos; please edit before you send), as an attachment. It does not need to be a headshot; it can be a casual photo. But anyone other than the person being honored who is in it MUST give permission for it to be posted.

Please send submissions to: c19wall — at — grieftoart — dot — com.

You should get an automated response when the submission is received. We will let you know when the the submission goes live (or, if for some reason, we can’t use it).

If you see someone you know already listed the site, and want to submit an additional, positive anecdote or memory of 100 words or less, please  use the same address with “Additional Anecdote” in the subject line; in the body of the email, put the person’s name and dates, the 50-word-or-less anecdote, and contributor attribution. We may need to limit it three additional anecdotes. No additional photos; just an anecdote.

Art/VISUAL/VERBAL Submissions

When we are ready to accept submissions for visual and verbal work, we post here, on the blog, and on social media. We are still working out guidelines.

Please note that this is not a market for work; it is a site to share excerpts of original art that was inspired by the artist’s grief.
